3 Questions to Ask Before Renting a Property

Property rental can be difficult to get exactly what you want. Often people settle for less than their ideal property because they don’tcfourth-img2 know how to get the most for their money or how to get everything on their wish list. But there is no reason to settle.

The amount of information available online and through property managers makes it easier than ever to know exactly what you are getting. There are some things that you always need to ask before renting a property, no matter the length of time. Renters are usually so focused on the cost that they forget these vital questions.

First, ask What happens if the property isn’t what I was promised? There is a difference between being too picky (It said there were purple curtains and these are blue!) and getting what you paid for like the proper number of bedrooms, bathrooms and amenities. Knowing what to do if there is a discrepancy is very important.

Second, What do I do if there is a property-related emergency? If you wake up in the middle of the night to water pouring through the ceiling it is important to know who to contact and what the procedures are. This will give you peace of mind and ensure that both your experience and the rental are the best that they can be.

Third, Who can I contact with questions while I’m in my rental? Again, use this within reason, but if you get to the rental and can’t figure out how to turn on the shower, it will be good to have someone that you can call with questions. Don’t abuse this information and only use it when absolutely necessary.

Asking these questions can make all the difference in how much you enjoy your rental.
